Job Corner with Ms. Whelton, PE

There is one more career fair to look for job opportunities, the Just in Time career fair on April 19th.  There are some companies attending (some of which you have received job opportunities from via me) and others that are most likely looking for an EEE.  Remember, anyone that makes a widget needs an environmental engineer for at least environmental regulations.

If you don’t have a summer or fulltime job opportunity there is still plenty of time!  I highly suggest you attend the last couple of career fairs as EEEs have gotten good opportunities in the past from them.  I have been emailing you directly with opportunities this year so you don’t have to check an additional site.  You will still have to keep checking the CCO out for positions.  Did you know you can set it up so they will email you positions directly from the CCO (See the set Job Alert section here)?  Linked In and USAJobs (for US federal government positions) are also great search engines.

There are also info sessions still being added via the CCO.  I suggest to keep checking this as they are still adding to/adjusting the list.

The job search is tough and can bring up some difficult feelings such as frustration and even grief.  Here is a great podcast and associated article that talks about overcoming these types of feeling and persevering in your job search.  “Get Hired by LinkedIn News” on LinkedIn provides great information to assist you in preparation for your career search and professional journey.  The specific podcast above is through the Get Hired page.
