In 1993, the United Nations has declared March 22 as World Water Day. Over 500 events were hosted around the world in 2019 to call awareness to water related issues, discuss the impact of these challenges, and inspire others to act. March 21, 2019 marked the second annual gathering of Water Day at Purdue.
The Office of the Provost has added three College of Engineering faculty members to its list of University Faculty Scholars in honor of their outstanding performance.
The Outstanding Engineering Graduate Student Mentor Award is voted on by graduate students in EEE to recognize a faculty member who has been an outstanding mentor to graduate students.
EEE has an annual award that is conferred each academic year to recognize the excellence of one member of the senior class. This award, the Environmental and Ecological Engineering Outstanding Senior Award, is selected based on academic performance, leadership, service, and professional activities.
The Society of Environmental and Ecological Engineers (SEEE) Instructional Excellence Award recognizes an EEE faculty member for outstanding achievement in the area of teaching with an emphasis on the past academic year.
Three EEE faculty members have been recognized with College of Engineering Faculty Excellence Awards for their contributions to teaching, research and online education. The awards were presented at the Faculty Recognition Banquet on April 5. The recipients are:
Environmental and Ecological Engineering sophomore Qi Erica Wang hasn’t wasted any time starting her career as a water safety specialist. She jumped right into research as a freshman, and this summer will present in Denver at the national conference of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
