Ernest (Chip) Blatchley, Lee A. Rieth Professor in Environmental Engineering and Professor in Environmental and Ecological Engineering, has started a 2-year term as President-Elect of the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA).

Purdue Environmental and Ecological Engineering was ranked the 12th undergraduate program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, tying with Yale University.

Seven seniors were announced as the fifth group of Purdue Engineering Fellows at a ceremony on September 11, included EEE senior Griffin Laihinen. (Pictured with EEE faculty member Lindsey Payne, right, who nominated Griffin for the award.)

Griffin Laihinen (BSEEE Class of 2024) chose Purdue for a number of reasons, including its standalone environmental and ecological engineering program Not many schools have academic programs as unique and curiosity-sparking as EEE is to prospective and current students, said Griffin, in the first installment of the Faces of Purdue Engineering series this fall.

EEE faculty member Inez Hua recently brought her sustainable electronics expertise to Western Digital, joining a collaborative effort that united academia, business, and government to institute new climate action and sustainability goals for the company.

Welcome, Heather Liddell, to our multidisciplinary EEE faculty! Liddell joined Purdue University in Fall 2023 as assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering and Environmental and Ecological Engineering.

EEE faculty members are working to keep our drinking water safe. Linda Lee is measuring and remediating the presence of PFAS "forever chemicals" and Caitlin Proctor is studying bacterial contamination in indoor water systems.
