Larry Nies, professor of civil engineering and environmental and ecological engineering, has been named the recipient of a 2016 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in Memory of Charles B. Murphy. Nies was surprised with the news on Wednesday (March 23).

The Seattle Times recently quoted Assistant Professor Roshanak Nateghi’s article “Critical Assessment of the Foundations of Power Transmission and Distribution Reliability Metrics and Standards”.

It will pass between more than 1,800 people next year, but on Friday (Dec. 11) the Bicentennial relay torch designed by Purdue University engineering students only had to handle one hand-off.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has approved master's and doctoral degree programs in environmental and ecological engineering at Purdue University.

Nadya Zyaykina, Laboratory Manager, won the College of Engineering New Employee Award. Dr. Zyaykina holds a joint position with Civil Engineering and Environmental and Ecological Engineering and supports the environmental laboratories in Hampton. One of the criteria for this award is shows a positive attitude in dealing with the University family/community. The winner was announced at the College of Engineering Staff Awards Banquet on Dec. 4.
