Johanna Walther, the youngest member of the RISE lab, wins award for her research.
Johanna was presented with the SURF with Distinction award by the Engineering Undergraduate Office of Research for her work "Constraining Parameters Necessary for Nanoscale Thermal Mapping of 2D Materials". The work was conducted through the Purdue Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) of Summer 2026 within the RISE Lab. As a young undergraduate researcher, she showed exceptional research performance, dedication, and merit. The SURF with Distinction award is the SURF program's highest honor for outstanding research performance.
