Cosmetiscope October Issue
PHD student Jaesik Hahn's work (in collaboration with the REID lab) is featured in this month's issue of Cosmetiscope!

The work of Jaesik Hahn, a PHD student working between the MTEC lab and the REID lab, was featured as the cover article in the magazine Cosmetiscope by the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists. Dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic science, the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists strives to increase and disseminate scientific information through meetings and publications. By promoting the research in cosmetic science and industry, and by setting high ethical, professional and educational standards, we reach our goal of improving the qualifications of cosmetic scientists.

Jaesik's research focuses on understanding heat transfer in hair and the effects of thermal damage during flat ironing processes, in particular. This article gives an overview of our results and highlights tradeoffs consumers must make in their styling choices to maintain hair health. Jaesik will present additional details of his work at the INNOVATION IN TEXTURED HAIR CARE symposium later this month.
