We are thrilled to announce that GaCycle team has been selected as one of the Phase 1 winners of the prestigious U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Electronics Scrap Recycling Advancement Prize (E-SCRAP)!
This nationwide competition, organized by DOE’s Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO), recognizes groundbreaking innovations in recovering and reusing critical materials from electronic waste. Out of numerous teams across the country, only 10 were selected, and GaCycle is among the winners!

GaCycle’s pioneering approach leverages a microorganism-based solution to extract gallium from e-waste products containing gallium arsenide and gallium nitride. Unlike traditional acid-leaching methods, this innovative process improves recovery rates while promoting a more sustainable and efficient approach to e-waste recycling.

The team is now continuing into Phase 2 of this competition to push the boundaries of circular economy innovation and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Congratulations to the entire GaCycle team on this incredible achievement!
