1. New Business - The 3D Print Club mentioned in their latest newsletter that they are using student-provided materials in the printers. The Safety Committee agreed that there needs to be an SDS provided if the material is not standard, and new materials need a review process. This will be implemented in the fall semester. 2. Review of College of Engineering Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Meeting reviewed 3. Review of Open Safety Items List - - Continuing discussions with the other schools in Armstrong, Kerry Ticen and Phil Qualio about combining resources to purchase an AED for WANG. The PUFD is a resource that can help us assess the best location in the building. Estimated one-time cost of $1800 and an annual cost of about $300. - REM audit action items: o MSDS’s to be converted to SDS’s § Step 1 – review current books for items no longer used and archive the MSDS’s (JH – AFL, JF – ARMS 1300 and WANG by 3/1/17) § Step 2 – Replace current MSDS’s with SDS’s (JH – AFL, JF – ARMS 1300 and WANG by 7/1/17) § (JH – AFL, JF – ARMS 1300 and WANG by 3/1/17) o Office of Future Engineers work continues. New office equipment has been installed. A follow up will be conducted. o Verification of the fire extinguisher placement in Professor Hynes lab will be done. 4. Review of Near Miss Log - No near misses to report. 5. New Items - No new items. |
