After graduating with his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue, Rick I. Zadoks worked as a professor for 12 years before starting his 20-year career at Caterpillar. Rick is an acknowledged expert in the torsional vibration of reciprocating engines, and has worked as a consultant in this area since his retirement from Caterpillar in 2020. Rick was a member of the original Industrial Advisory Council for the School of Engineering Education (ENE) from its founding in 2014 until 2021, serving as chair for 10 years. In 2012, he was awarded the Purdue Engineering Alumni Association Loyalty Award for his service to ENE.
