The Fourth Semester in FYE
Students are allowed to remain in the First-Year Engineering Program for up to four semesters.
Students who are currently in their fourth-semester in FYE will not be given their registration PIN for the following semester (or summer, if the following semester is the fall) until after grades for the current semester are posted, and the student has met the requirements for guaranteed admission to one of the professional engineering schools.
- To be officially accepted by a professional engineering school, a student must (1) have completed or have credit for all nine courses on the FYE Program Plan of Study, (2) have an Engineering Admission Index of 2.0 or higher, and (3) have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Note: Guaranteed admission into the professional school or major of the student's choice is dependent upon the school's critical capacity (capacity limitations).
- Once the student has been admitted to a professional engineering school, that school will advise and release the registration PIN for following semester.
- If all the requirements for entry into a professional engineering school have not been met at the end of the semester, the student will need to CODO to another college, school or program at Purdue in order to be advised and receive their PIN for the following semester. Students will not be allowed to remain in FYE beyond the fourth semester.
Fourth-semester students who are not completing their First-Year Engineering Program coursework this semester must CODO to another college, school or program at Purdue in order to be advised and receive their PIN for the following semester.
