EEE Research Seminar- September 17
The speaker for the EEE Research Seminar on Tuesday, September 17 is Chris Andres, PE, CWP, Wastewater Process Engineer for Black and Veatch.
Save the date for the 2024 annual Ecological Sciences & Engineering symposium on October 2-3, 2024, The Future of WATERS: Wellbeing, Access, Technology, Ecological Impacts, Resilience, Sustainability, addressing issues such as water quality, security, policy, and access. Featuring transdisciplinary panel discussions, a keynote dialogue and book signing with New York bookseller Dan Egan, and a poster competition, this two-day event aims to foster open dialogue on the multifaceted challenges facing the water sector and generate innovative solutions and strategies for a sustainable water future. Open to the entire Purdue University, the Greater Lafayette community, and beyond, we invite students, faculty, staff, and the public to join us in exploring these critical issues.
Abstract submissions are due by September 15, with a final deadline of September 20.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water is pleased to announce the 12th Campus RainWorks Challenge (2024/25) —a design competition for students from U.S. colleges and universities to showcase benefits of
green infrastructure for their campus and community.
Entries for the 12th Round are due on Earth Day (April 22, 2025), so this is a great way for your campus to celebrate.

Purdue GIS Day 2024: Call for Student Proposals
Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies invites you to attend and present at Purdue GIS Day 2024: Exploring GeoAI on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in STEW 214.
Take your research to the next level by presenting it to leading scholars and members of the broader GIS community. Undergraduate and graduate students can submit proposals for a poster presentation and/or a 5-minute lightning talk on any GIS-related topic. This is a great opportunity to practice public speaking and add noteworthy skills to your resume. The best of the student posters and presentations will receive cash awards.
The conference will also feature keynote speaker Gregory Brunner, an experienced scientist, award-winning professor, and principal data scientist at Esri—global market leader in GIS software, location intelligence, and mapping. He will be speaking about the rapid growth of the AI model ecosystem and the potential impact it has and will have on GIS in his talk titled, “The Burgeoning AI Model Ecosystem and Its Potential Impact on GIS.”
Please submit your proposal by September 30, 2024 which will also get you registered for the conference to receive a free T-shirt and to attend the panel discussion lunch.

The Office of Graduate Admissions: Document Collection Days
The Office of Graduate Admissions will be meeting with students in-person to collect/verify admission documents to satisfy conditions of admission/continued enrollment. Students are able to drop off transcripts to YONG 170 at any time or can have the documents sent electronically from the institution. There is no guarantee, however, that the transcripts would be returned.
