EEE at Indiana Partners for Sustainability 2024 Conference

Last month, EEE Students and staff attended the Indiana Partners for Sustainability conference in Indianapolis. The Partners for Sustainability, including Purdue EEE, champion sustainability, pollution prevention, and environmental stewardship programs in businesses and organizations.

Last month, EEE made an appearance at the Indiana Partners for Sustainability conference in Indianapolis. Attendees included (left to right) EEE staff, Michelle Indarjit and Margaret Whelton, EEE students, Rashmika Manipati, Nikki Zavodny and Emma Santos, EEE graduate students Amanda Lopez and Maaz Bin Naseer, as well as EEE professor Andy Whelton.

The Partners for Sustainability, including Purdue EEE, champion sustainability, pollution prevention, and environmental stewardship programs in businesses and organizations.

EEE Professor Andy Whelton and PhD student Amanda Lopez presented on topics of their expertise at the event. Professor Whelton shared, “How Wildfires Can Contaminate Your Drinking and Wastewater.” Lopez focused on her research in microorganisms, sharing how algae can play a role in wastewater treatment. Other topics such as, organic gardening, carbon neutral egg production, building a sustainable culture, and zero landfill initiatives were presented and discussed.

The Partners for Sustainability are dedicated to promoting successful sustainability practices and approaches to achieve measurable reduction of pollution in Indiana, and EEE is proud to play a part in this endeavor.
