European Transportation Systems & Supply Chains Study Abroad: July 17-30, 2022

This class provides students with active learning experiences for various types of European transportation infrastructure and systems. The class will begin in London with visits to Tower Bridge, Farnborough Air Show, Crossrail Stations and several cultural sites. Students will travel to German sites in Munich and Hamburg for visits to Airbus and BMW assembly lines, Hamburg port facilities, and Munich airport airside operations.

There will be an orientation bike tour in each city as well as extensive use of diverse public transportation systems and modes. Cultural experiences will be highlighted in each city. Throughout the trip, students have opportunities to observe how transportation systems and supply chains have evolved over the last century and understand the integration between Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction, and Aerospace Engineering in the operation of complex transportation systems. Three credits (technical elective) will be awarded for this course.

Estimated Program Cost (fee finalized by 02/01/22) Program fee estimated at $2917 (*less if eligible for the Purdue Moves Scholarship) which includes: all housing, in-country transportation, excursions, approx. 16 meals, three credits, and international health insurance.

Additional expenses: Airfare (est. $1400), Passport, Visas (if necessary), some meals, and personal spending money.
