In recent joint work with Prof. Sabre Kais from Purdue University, we investigated possible magnetic and topological phases attainable in a 1D chain of Rydberg excitons in Cuprous oxide. We also propose a new quantum algorithm that maps the dynamics to a spin-1/2 system and allows its simulation on a digital quantum computer.
