Recipient of Bravo Award
The College of Engineering will shortly be announcing the University's Bravo Award winners. The awards recognize outstanding contributions in four categories: moving the University forward, operational excellence, innovation/creativity, and fiscal stewardship. The recipient of the Bravo Award for Spring 2015 was Terri Moore, Administrative Assistant in EEE.

Prof. Nies receives Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award
Loring (Larry) Nies, Professor of Environmental and Ecological Engineering and Civil Engineering, will receive the 2015 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award.

EEE Professor and Graduate Student get paper featured on journal cover
A research paper authored by Prof. Chad Jafvert and his Ph.D. student, Yingcan Zhao, was featured on the cover of the April issue of Environmental Science: Nano.

Two EEE undergraduates receive the H2O Hydrologist Helping Others Student Grant
Steven Cardinas (May 2017) and Sydney Weiss (May 2017) received a $10,000 from H2O Hydrologist Helping Others. The monies will allow students to travel to Western Kenya to build and install slow sand filters.

Prof. Inez Hua appointed member of EPA Board of Scientific Counselors
Inez Hua, Professor of Civil Engineering and Environmental and Ecological Engineering, was recently appointed as a member of the Safe and Sustainable Water Resources, a subcommittee of the U.S. EPA Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC), for a three year term.

Faculty Spotlight - Prof. Zhi Zhou
Professor Zhi “George” Zhou joined the Division of Environmental and Ecological Engineering and Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University in June 2014. Currently he is teaching water and wastewater treatment processes (EEE 495/CE 497) and environmental biotechnology (CE 597) at Purdue.
