The Purdue University School of Sustainability Engineering and Environmental Engineering mourns the loss of alumna Hannah Rapp (BSEEE '22), who passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 26. Hannah earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Purdue in December 2022, along with a minor in Political Science.

A native of Indiana, Hannah was known for her determination, positivity, and willingness to embrace every challenge before her. During her time at Purdue, she competed in athletics, participated in Women's Ultimate Frisbee, and later joined the Purdue Track & Field team. Her classmates remember her for her sense of humor, kindness, and unwavering enthusiasm, often bringing both a smile and a laugh to those around her.

After graduation, Hannah continued serving the Purdue community as an Environmental Technician with Purdue Environmental Health and Safety while pursuing another ambitious goal: a career in professional boxing. In 2024, she moved to Texas, where she worked as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist while continuing her training.

Through discipline and perseverance, Hannah achieved her dream of becoming a professional boxer, earning recognition as one of the sport's rising stars. Yet those who knew her best remember not only her accomplishments, but also her character. She was thoughtful, compassionate, and fully committed to the people and pursuits she cared about.

"Hannah loved Purdue and loved the Environmental and Ecological Engineering program," said fellow SEE alumna and friend Abbie Furniss. "She was someone who dove headfirst into every opportunity, encouraged those around her and brought energy and laughter wherever she went."

The SEE community extends its deepest condolences to Hannah's family, friends, classmates, teammates, and colleagues. Her impact on our school and our alumni community will not be forgotten.
