Dr. Shubhra Bansal is an Associate Professor at Purdue University with a joint appointment in School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Materials Engineering. Her research interests include developing stable and sustainable materials for Optoelectronic/Semiconductor Devices and Heterogeneous Integration/Advanced Packaging. She completed her undergraduate studies in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology- Roorkee, India. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before joining Purdue, she worked as a faculty at University of Nevada Las Vegas, and in industry at GE Global Research. She has also served as a Senior Technical Advisor for President Obama’s SunShot Initiative at the Department of Energy. Her honors prestigious NSF CAREER Award; and NASA and DOE faculty fellowships. Her research is currently funded by National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, DARPA and Department of Defense. She currently serves as the Associate Editor of Solar Energy Journal, IEEE- Journal of Photovoltaics. Outside of work, she is a busy mother of two boys.
