Felix Lin wins NSF SaTC award

CRISP thrust lead on IoT, Felix Lin, won a research grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Secure & Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program. The grant is collaborative with University of California at Irvine.

The research grant seeks to develop techniques to protect the Graphical User Interface (GUI) on mobile devices from being tampered with through malicious attacks. The project exploits a synergy of hardware features, including virtualization, ARM TrustZone, and modern display controller with support for overlaid layers. Finally, the research team is evaluating the security assurance provided, performance overhead, and ease of use by application developers.
