Application invited for CRISP faculty awards

We are announcing a recognition awards program for CRISP affiliate faculty. There are two categories of awards: Outstanding Rising Faculty and Distinguished Senior Faculty. One or two faculty will be awarded in each category. For the competition, submit a 2 page vision statement and 2 page bio. Judging will be done by our industrial affiliates, College of Engineering Associate Dean for Research, and some other intellectual leaders at Purdue. There is a token monetary amount associated with the awards.

 

 

 

 

Faculty Awards Program 2021

CRISP seeks to recognize outstanding contributions by its affiliate faculty to resilient system design and development. For this, it will select awardees in two categories:

  1. Outstanding Rising Faculty
  2. Distinguished Senior Faculty

Timeline:

Submission deadline: Feb 15, 5 pm Eastern

Announcement of award: Mar 10

For each category, there will be one or two awardees. They will be recognized on the CRISP website, various Purdue websites, invited to give a vision talk at a CRISP seminar in Spring 2021, and get a token monetary award ($500 for each awardee). The monetary award is sponsored by Adobe. 

 

Requirements: 

  1. Must be an affiliate faculty member of CRISP or a part of the leadership team with the exception of CRISP Director.
  2. For “Outstanding Rising Faculty” must be an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within 3 years of tenure.
  3. For “Distinguished Senior Faculty” anyone who is above in seniority to the above category.

 

Application: 

The application process is simple and will be judged by a panel comprising our industrial partners, College of Engineering Associate Dean for Research, some other intellectual leaders from Purdue, and the CRISP Director. The application will have:

  1. A 2 page document outlining vision of the candidate for resilience in any of the three thrust areas: Cyber, Cyber-physical, or Socio-technical systems. This should include some contributions the candidate has already demonstrated toward the vision. Bibliographic references do not count toward the page limit.
  2. A 2 page NSF style biographical sketch.
