At a convocation held on April 28, 2011, Leah H. Jamieson, John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering and Professor (by courtesy) H. Jay Melosh, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Physics, were both recognized as being inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011.

Purdue Alumnus on NASA mission to Space Station
Andrew Feustel, Purdue alumnus and NASA astronaut, appears aboard the space shuttle Endeavour during its 16-day mission to the International Space Station. During the mission, Feustel was scheduled to lead three out of four spacewalks to perform critical installations and maintenance.

After 31 years of dedicated service, Terri Moore is retiring
Terri started at Purdue in 1981 in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics as a technical typist. She was promoted to assistant to the head of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1985 under Dr Henry Yang.

Former Head of AAE & Dean of Engineering at Purdue to give commencement speech at West Virginia University
Chancellor Henry Yang of the University of California, Santa Barbara, former Head of AAE and Dean of Engineering at Purdue, will be the commencement speaker at West Virginia University on May 14, where he will also receive an Honorary Doctorate.
