The Faculty Awards of Excellence was initiated in 2002 to honor outstanding faculty. The Award recognizes, encourages and promotes outstanding contributions of faculty within the College of Engineering. Two AAE professors were among those honored.

James Mann, chief executive officer and founder of M4 Sciences Corp., shows off the prototype of a high-precision device that he has developed at the Michael Golden Laboratory in Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering. M4 Sciences, along with two other Indiana startups, now will have the opportunity to meet with venture capital firms in Silicon Valley.
Top NASA administrator to speak about history, future of aerospace engineering

NASA's top administrator, Michael Griffin, will discuss the history and importance of aerospace education and research as the keynote speaker of the eighth William E. Boeing Distinguished Lecture at Purdue University.

His talk, "System Engineering and the Two Cultures of Engineering," is sponsored by the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and will be held in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall at 1 p.m. on Wednesday (March 28). The event is free and open to the public.

Professor Mario A. Rotea AAE Professor elevated to the grade of IEEE Fellow

Professor Mario Rotea has been elevated to the grade of Fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for contributions to robust and optimal control of multivariable systems.

Greg Harbaugh, Astronaut 2006 Fall Space Day
More than 600 youngsters from three states are expected at Purdue University's Fall Space Day where they will meet Purdue alumnus and astronaut Gregory N. Harbaugh and participate in a number of space-related activities.
