AAE graduate student named one of Aviation Week's "20 Twenties"

AAE graduate student Deepak Atyam is being recognized as one of "Tomorrow’s Engineering Leaders: The 20 Twenties." The award recognizes top engineering, math, science and technology students based on their academic excellence, research and projects undertaken, and the contributions they are making to the broader community.

AAE graduate student Deepak Atyam is being recognized as one of "Tomorrow’s Engineering Leaders: The 20 Twenties." The honor is part of Penton‘s Aviation Week Network, in partnership with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). The award recognizes top engineering, math, science and technology students based on their academic excellence, research and projects undertaken, and the contributions they are making to the broader community.

Atyam is a student of AAE Associate Professor Timothée Pourpoint. He is pursuing an MS in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in Propulsion and a minor in Industrial Engineering. Atyam says he is happy his work is being recognized by professionals in the Aerospace community.

“It helps validate the direction I chose to go in my career path and gives me confidence to push further while aiming for ambitious goals,” says Atyam.

The 20 Twenties winners will be honored during Aviation Week’s 59th Annual Laureates Awards March 3rd at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. They will also be featured in the February 29th digital and print publication of Aviation Week & Space Technology.
