School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Ph.D. Student Wayne Schlei Receives Best Paper Award at AIAA Conference

At the recent AIAA Space and Astronautics Forum in August 2014, current Ph.D. student in Astrodynamics and Space Applications, Wayne Schlei, as well as AAE Professor Kathleen Howell, received a conference Best Paper Award for their technical paper entitled “Enhanced Visualization and Autonomous Extraction of Poincaré Map Topology." The paper was originally presented at the 2013 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Additional co-authors on the papers are Professor Xavier Tricoche from the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University and Professor Christoph Garth from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany.
