Professor Emeritus Winthrop (Gus) Gustafson to be inducted into the Purdue Co-Op Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Professor Emeritus Winthrop (Gus) Gustafson who is to be inducted into the Purdue Co-Op Hall of Fame
The Co-Op Hall of Fame will honor six people when they are inducted into the 2013 Co-Op Hall of Fame. The event will take place on Friday September 27, 2013 11:45 am -2:00 pm at the Purdue Memorial Union East/West Faculty Lounges.
2013 Co-Op Hall of Fame Inductees Being Honored:
- Frederick "Rick" Bried (Electrical Engineering) – Bried was a Co-Op student with Shell Oil Company Products Pipeline Division. After graduation, he received a position with Shell and retired in 2003 after more than 30 years of service.
- John Grutzner (Chemisty) – Grutzner was Co-Op Coordinator for the Chemistry department for 28 years (1984-2012). He was a professor at Purdue University from 1969 until his retirement in 2012.
- Winthrop A. Gustafson (Aeronautics & Astronautics Engineering) – Gustafson became Co-Op Coordinator for the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering for 14 years (1984-1998). He retired from his positions as associate head and professor at Purdue University in 1998.
- Keith H. Hawks (Mechanical Engineering) – Hawks was Co-Op Coordinator for the School of Mechanical Engineering for 17 years from May 1982 until May 1999. He retired as assistant head and professor at Purdue University in 2011.
- William C. Nelson (Chemical Engineering) – Nelson worked five sessions with Mallinckrodt Chemical Company through the Co-Op program during his time as a Purdue student. He is currently an executive consultant and board member for Peregrine Petroleum LLC.
- Hannis Thompson (Electrical & Computer Engineering) – Thompson served as Co-Op Coordinator for the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering for nine years (1979-1988). He held positions as professor and assistant head from 1982 until his retirement in 1996.
