Congratulations to grad student Anthony Cofer who was honored at the 15th Annual Celebration of Graduate Teaching Excellence on April 23 as a recipient of the Committee for the Education of Teaching Assistants Excellence in Teaching Award

The event is hosted by the Office of the Provost, Teaching Academy, Graduate School, Committee for the Education of Teaching Assistants, and the Center for Instructional Excellence.

Prof. Alina Alexeenko is Anthony's advisor and research for his Ph.D. is in microthruster technology which is used to turn satellites. He studies the position and orientation of satellites through the use of microthrusters and the aerodynamics of the propellant inside them.

The Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award is the highest honor Purdue gives to a graduate student. Selected students must show excellence in mentoring and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students, and have proven leadership and accomplishments outside of the classroom in service and outreach as well as scholarly presentations and publications.
