On December 27, 2010 the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) was pleased to announce the 2011 AIAA Fellows and Honorary Fellows, including Purdue AAE's own Department Head and Professor, Tom I-P. Shih.

The distinction of Fellow is conferred by AIAA upon outstanding members of the Institute who have made notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.
