Congratulations to George Pollock, one of three recipients of the 2010 Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award

This is a competitive award made by the Graduate School , in collaboration with the Committee for the Education of Teaching Assistants (CETA) and the Office of the Provost, recognizes graduate students who exemplify excellence in the University's learning mission.

This is a competitive award made by the Graduate School, in collaboration with the Committee for the Education of Teaching Assistants (CETA) and the Office of the Provost, recognizes graduate students who exemplify excellence in the University's learning mission. It is the highest award presented by the University in recognition of graduate student teachers.

Winners are determined by nomination and a competitive process, with the final selection determined by a joint Graduate School and CETA committee. When deciding the winners, a number of diverse criteria are considered, including accomplishments in discovery and engagement, awards and honors, and publications. In addition, each applicant is required to elaborate on his or her teaching philosophy and teaching experiences, course responsibilities, instructional materials developed, and educational and teaching workshop participation. Students selected for this award must have demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

George will receive his award at the annual Celebration of Graduate Student Teaching Banquet being held on April 27 in the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms.
