While at Purdue, Martin has enjoyed the opportunity to be involved as a judge for the AAE Research Symposium Series from 2008-2010. He is the recipient of the NASA Graduate Student Research Program Fellowship, the AIAA Orville and Wilbur Wright Graduate Award, and the Purdue University Andrews Fellowship.
Before coming to Purdue, Martin completed his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Pennsylvania State University in 2003. Recently, Martin, along with his co-authors Daniel Grebow and Kathleen Howell, were acknowledged with the Best Paper of Conference Award for their work on "Solar Sails and Lunar South Pole Coverage," presented at the 2008 AIAA/AAS Astrodynamics Specialist Conference.
Martin has accepted an engineering staff position at the Johns Hopkins Applied University Physics Laboratory, where he will work on spacecraft mission design.
