AAE graduate chosen to give student response at Purdue's Division 2 May Graduation

The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics wishes to congratulate Dr. Marriner Merrill on being selected to give the student response. Marriner Merrill completed his PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics with Dr. C.T. Sun. His research has focused on development of nanolaminate manufacturing methods for advanced materials and devices. He completed his M.S. also at Purdue in 2005. Before coming to Purdue, Marriner completed his B.S.M.E. at Utah State University.
While at Purdue, Marriner has had the opportunity to be involved with several graduate student organizations. He has served as President of the Purdue Graduate Student Government, an executive of Purdues first Graduate Student Job Fair, a founding member of Aero Assist (the AAE graduate student organization) and lead judge for the AAE Research Symposium Series. He is the recipient of the Department of Education GAANN Fellowship and Purdue University Andrews Fellowship.
Currently Marriner is exploring career options, continuing his research and enjoying the opportunity to teach the summer AAE 352 course. Outside of school, he enjoys working with the youth program at his church, spending time with his wife and children and trying to improve his Russian speaking skills.
