Congratulations to Marriner Merrill, AAE's 2009 Outstanding Graduate Student

Marriner Merrill is completing his PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics with Dr. C.T. Sun.

Marriner Merrill is completing his PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics with Dr. C.T. Sun. His research has focused on development of nanolaminate manufacturing methods for advanced materials and devices. He completed his M.S. also at Purdue in 2005. While at Purdue, Marriner has enjoyed the opportunity to be involved with several graduate student organizations. He has served as President of the Purdue Graduate Student Government, executive of Purdue’s first Graduate Student Job Fair, a founding member of Aero Assist (the AAE graduate student organization) and lead judge for the AAE Research Symposium Series. He is the recipient of the Department of Education GAANN Fellowship and Purdue University Andrews Fellowship.

Before coming to Purdue, Marriner completed his B.S.M.E. at Utah State University. Outside of school, Marriner enjoys working with the youth program at his church, spends time with his wife and children and tries to improve his Russian speaking skills.
