Amanda's Bio
I grew up in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities. Aviation runs in my family; my dad and uncle are both pilots so I have always had a love for aviation. In high school, I decided to pursue my own private pilots license and received it August 2003. I knew that I wanted to continue studying aviation and space, so Purdue was my number one choice.
While at Purdue, I have been fortunate enough to participate in the co-op program and the Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program. I completed five co-op rotations at Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Corp. in Boulder, Colorado. I flew on NASA’s C-9 Weightless Wonder and conducted a fluids experiment in spring 2007.
After graduation, I will be working at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the in the Mission Planning department.
