David Orlando Holguin Mejia

David Orlando Holguin Mejia is a Master's student in the Transportation and Infrastructure Systems program at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering. Originally hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, he completed his Bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá campus, in November 2022. During his undergraduate studies, David engaged in safety research as part of the Infrastructure and Mobility research team (SIMUN, in its Spanish acronym). As a graduate student, David has contributed to various collaborative projects between Purdue University and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), addressing topics such as equity and accessibility, highway cost allocation, local asset management, and sustainability in road infrastructure development. He is an active member of the Sustainable Transportation Systems Research Group (STSRG) at Purdue. Additionally, David serves as the Vice-President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Purdue Student Chapter 2024-2025 and plays a key role in the professional development team of the Civil Engineering Graduate Student Advisory Council (CEGSAC) 2024-2025
