In an effort to improve web accessibility on Engineering web sites the following changes have been implements:
- New Template - a new version of the look and feel was developed to improve the use of standard compliant web design
- Accessible Forms - Forms built into the Template were updated to use labels and title attributes for identification
- Purdue Event System - The Purdue Event System was modified to allow for the easy addition of text alternatives to images
- Skip Nav - A hidden link was added to the header of each page to allow screen readers to bypass header navigation on each page
- Standard News Widgets - a standard set of news listing widgets were rolled out which include proper markup for accessibility
- People Listings - Alternate text was added to photos of people on departmental staff listings
