What is it for?

The helpdesk offers support for quick questions (<5 min) on the following topics:

  • Sentence structure
  • Grammar checks / punctuation
  • Conciseness
  • Checking the basic organization and flow within sections
    • Abstract, Introduction, background, etc.
    • Transitional devices
  • Figures, slides, and visuals: determining clarity, formatting advice, suggesting chart type, etc.
  • Appropriate academic vocabulary

 

What is it not for?

The helpdesk is not a substitute for a one-on-one consultation for longer reviews such as:

  • Proofreading a full paper or presentation
  • Providing detailed consultation or tutoring

If your question requires a more in-depth conversation, we will recommend scheduling a one-on-one online consultation.

 

How do you use it?

Send us an email with the sentence or screenshot of the item you’d like us to review with your question or concern. You should receive a response within 24 hours of submitting your question.
