Pattiya is from Thailand and earned her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Purdue University before completing her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University. She joined the Chawla Research Group as a postdoctoral researcher in Summer 2026. Her research uses X-ray computed tomography to study 3D microstructure, deformation, and damage evolution in advanced materials. She also supports and oversees a range of collaborative projects involving diverse material systems, from biological and natural structures to geological and metallic materials.
