Following a thorough recruitment process, Dr. Kaushik Yanamandra, formerly of New York University School of Mechanical Engineering, joined the Chawla Research Group as a postdoctoral scholar. Dr. Yanamandra's work has focused on the characterization of lead acid batteries, security of AM materials, and the application of machine learning methods for both. He plans to assist in the implementation of deep-learning methods for segmentation and classification problems in the analysis of 3D tomography data.
