Conference theme

The theme of the 11^th CIRP Global Web Conference – CIRPe 2023 is “Emerging trends in manufacturing: Strategies, processes, and applications." The contributions to the conference should be interdisciplinary and diverse to align with the cross-disciplinary structure of CIRP establishment. The contributions can include, but are not limited to:

• Hybrid manufacturing - hybridization of additive and subtractive processes, multi-materials manufacturing, surface engineering and post-processing, design for hybrid manufacturing, integration and testing.
• Digital manufacturing - digital threads/twins for manufacturing, AI/ML approaches in manufacturing, in-situ process monitoring, process optimization strategies.
• Biologicalisation and biomanufacturing - Bio-inspired design strategies, bio-inspired surfaces, additive and subtractive manufacturing processes for bio-inspired functional surfaces and biomaterials, 3D bioprinting.
• Continued learning from COVID-19 pandemic – design and implementation strategies for resilient and sustainable manufacturing, modular manufacturing, point-of-need manufacturing, resource-constrained manufacturing.
• Engineering education and workforce development - pedagogical techniques for manufacturing education, hands-on training methods, student exchange programs in manufacturing education, virtual and hybrid teaching methods in manufacturing education.
