Study Abroad Mexico: Air and Space Industry - 1 Week May 2022

Air and Space Industry in Mexico is a week-long program in May 2022 in Querétaro, Mexico at Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro.  This university received a 100K Strong in the Americas Grant and they are using some of it to subsidize the cost of this program.  More program info HERE

Estimated cost is $1700 which includes most expenses: Group flight, Housing, all activities on the itinerary, all cultural activities, all ground transportation and airport transfers in Mexico, most meals, academic credit, and International Health Insurance.  Sophomores to Seniors are eligible to apply.  Students earn 2 credits for ENGR 39697. Only 14 spots are available and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the program is full. 

Overview

Universidad Aeronautica en Queretaro (UNAQ) is a public university in the state of Queretaro, Mexico with 14 years of experience training professionals and researchers for the Aeronautical Sector. Learn about different aeronautical topics such as maintenance, manufacturing,and design in the different UNAQ labs as well as visiting different aeronautical companies. Several cultural excursions are included.

Activities include:

-Queretaro City Tour, Presentation and Tour at UNAQ, Welcome dinner

-Workshop in aircraft maintenance, Visit Techop MRO, Cheese and Wine tasting in Tequisquiapan

- Visit to CENTA, Aerocluster of Queretaro talk, Tour of Bernal

-Visit Safran Co., Manufacturing and Design workshop, Mexican Party with UNAQ students

-Tours and activities in Mexico City

Students

Students in ME, AAE, the Polytechnic, and other related majors, Sophomores to Seniors are invited to apply. There are 14 spots maximum.

Travel Overseas

Group flight from Chicago to Mexico City. UNAQ is arranging all aspects of the program and subsidizing a sizeable portion the cost with a 100K Strong in the Americas Grant.

Academic Details

Students earn 2 credits for ENGR 39697. Students must check with their academic advisor to see how this course can be used in your plan of study.

Cost

The program fee is estimated at$ 1,700 which includes: Airfare, Hotels, most meals (except weekend) all course activities and cultural activities on the itinerary, all ground transportation in Mexico, academic credits, and international health insurance.

Additional expenses: Passport, a few meals, personal activities, personal spending money, and transportation to and from Chicago O'Hare.
