Women in Research and Engineering Development (WiRED) Scholarship Program

Goals of the scholarship:

1. Promote retention of women undergraduate students in aerospace engineering and related fields of study and incentivize them to complete their degree
2. Identify, train and recruit bright women aerospace engineers as potential hires for Emergent Space Technologies

Stipend Amount: $1,000

Number of Anticipated Awards: up to 3

Eligibility for the scholarship:

1. Female, full-time student
2. Will have completed their sophomore year in aerospace engineering or related field at an accredited U.S. university at the time of receipt of the scholarship (Fall 2021)
3. Cumulative GPA > 3.2
4. Plan to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in the field of aerospace engineering or related field
5. Plan to pursue a career in aerospace engineering
6. U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Application requirement:

1. Completed application form (please see attached)
2. College transcript (unofficial is acceptable) that includes grades from the fall semester/quarter of the applicant’s sophomore year
3. One letter of recommendation from a professor of science, technology, engineering or math
