Human-Robot Collaboration for Better Sustainability
Human-robot collaboration (HRC) has attracted increasing attentions recently, both in academia and in industry. For example, in HRC assembly, robots are required to dynamically change their pre-planned tasks to collaborate with human operators in a shared workspace. The aim of HRC is to better assist human operators than replacing the operators, and to provide better working conditions for the operators. To the end, no matter the age, gender, experience and physical condition of each individual, every operator can do the same quality job with the support of HRC. Therefore, it contributes to lasting societal sustainability on factory floors. Within this context, this seminar will first present a snapshot of AI history and then an overview of the current activities of human-robot collaboration research at KTH. At the end of the seminar, remaining challenges and future research directions will be highlighted.
