Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) has opened applications for our Ingenuity Internship Program (http://go.lbl.gov/ingenuity) again for 10 weeks during Summer 2024, and I am getting in touch with you again this year to ask for your help in connecting us with curious, talented students (undergraduate or graduate) to apply.

The Ingenuity internship program is focused on cultivating a diverse, talented next-generation workforce in the field of geologic nuclear waste disposal and will be sponsored again by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy after the success of our inaugural program last summer. The main pillar of this program is to connect with student applicants from underrepresented backgrounds to engage them in the future of this industry. Ultimately, our goal is to raise awareness and excitement about careers in this field.

Included below is a website link that provides more information on the program, describes seven new internship projects that we are offering in Summer 2024, and also includes a link for students to apply. 

Given the nature of the internship projects (ranging from experimental work to simulations to machine learning), we are interested in students from the earth, environmental and/or geosciences, as well as computational sciences, nuclear engineering, and other related disciplines.
