Naval STEM is excited to announce that Naval Horizons is officially open! 

Naval Horizons is an essay contest introducing college and high school students who are U.S. citizens to cutting-edge STEM topics impacting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through an engaging video series. The STEM topics in the video series include environmental science, aerospace optometry, autonomy, oceanography, and more! 

Students are invited to watch the videos to learn about Naval STEM challenges and the scientists and engineers tackling them. Then students are tasked to write a 500-word essay explaining how the research presented in the video and the STEM professional inspired them and their thoughts on the future of the STEM topic. Up to 5,000 winners will be selected to receive a $200 cash prize! In addition, exceptional essays will be designated Naval Horizons Highest Honors and highlighted on the Naval Horizons website.
