VIP 479: FEMTA Suborbital Flight Test (Fall 2023)

Film Evaporation MEMS Thermal Array (FEMTA) is a NASA-funded research and technology development project in micro-propulsion for small satellites. Students will design, build, and test an experimental payload which will demonstrate FEMTA micropropulsion technology in microgravity aboard a Blue Origin New Shepard Rocket.

We are looking for outstanding undergraduate students of all disciplines who are interested in conducting research in micropropulsion for CubeSats to join our team. Applicants should have: a GPA of 3.2 or higher, completed AAE 333 or its equivalent, and CAD/machining abilities, however previous research experience is not required.

If interested, please send a resume to Alina Alexeenko (alexeenk@purdue.edu), Steven Pugia (spugia@purdue.edu), and Jesus Meza-Galvin (jmezagal@purdue.edu). For more information, see flyer below.
