New AAE 490 Spring 2022 Course: FEMTA Orbital Flight Test
We are excited to announce a new 490 opportunity for the Spring 2022 semester. Prof. Alexeenko is looking for a handful of excellent juniors and seniors to join her research team on the FEMTA micropropulsion project. FEMTA (Film Evaporation MEMS Tunable Array) is a NASA and Air Force funded CubeSat propulsion project.
Students will work to design, build, and test a FEMTA propulsion system and CubeSat which will be launched into orbit. This will be a hands-on, experimental research experience with design, CAD, simulation, and prototyping.
This course can count as a Propulusion or Design specialization/selective for AAE students.
Requirements: 3.2 GPA or higher, completion of AAE333 or equivalent, and CAD abilities. Previous research experience not required.
Please submit resumes and a short written explanation of your interest in the project to Prof. Alexeenko (alexeenk@purdue.edu) and Steven Pugia (spugia@purdue.edu) no later than Dec 12. You may also send us questions.
