Degree Requirements

The Sustainable Building and Design and Operation (MS or MSE) degree requires a total of 30 credit hours with at least 18 credits of Purdue, graduate level, engineering courses. 

Select at least 15 credit hours from the following courses:

  • CCE 51300: Lighting and Daylighting Design of Buildings (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 51701: Smart Building Systems Modeling (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 51400: Building Controls (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 51501/ME 59700: Building Energy Audits (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 59700/ME 59700: Building Energy and Performance Modeling (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 51600/ EEE 59500: Indoor Air Quality (3 credit hours)
  • CCE 51901: BIM for High Performance Buildings (3 credit hours)

Creating Your Plan of Study

The Master of Science and Master of Science in Engineering offer flexibility in course options. After you begin your studies at Purdue, an academic advisor will help you create an electronic plan of study (EPOS) to fit your educational needs and career goals.  

The student is ultimately responsible for knowing and completing all degree requirements. This website is a knowledge source for some specific requirements of completion.
