NSF Grand Challenges in Resilience Workshop

Logistics Information

 

This is happening November 13-15 (Mon-Wed) on Purdue University campus. The venue for the technical sessions is the Recreational Sports Center (RSC).

1. The venue for the evening reception on November 13 will be at the Wright Forestry Center and dinner on November 14 is at the Ross-Ade Stadium. Shuttles will be provided to and from both venues. 2. The optimum travel plan will have you arriving in time for the welcome reception on November 13 starting at 6.30 pm.

3. The workshop will wrap up by 3:00 pm on November 15.

4. We will be arranging hotel accommodations for you, you can indicate in your email acceptance/RSVP which days you would need this for. Please RSVP by October 25th.

5. Flying in: Preferred is the Indianapolis airport (ET). Much less

preferred: Chicago (CT) – it has better connections but the traffic between Purdue and Chicago is often a mess.

6. Coming from Indianapolis to Purdue campus: There are shuttles running between the airport and Purdue campus, and will drop you off at the hotel. The shuttle companies are: Lafayette Limo [https://www.lafayettelimo.com/] and Reindeer Shuttle [https://www.reindeershuttle.com/]. We do not recommend renting a car as you will not need it during the workshop and parking on campus is a hassle.

7. Coming from Chicago O’ Hare to Purdue campus: There are shuttles running between the airport and Purdue campus, and will drop you off at the hotel. The shuttle companies are: Reindeer Shuttle [https://www.reindeershuttle.com/] and Express Air Coach [https://expressaircoach.com/].

8. Weather: For those of you coming in from warmer places, time to pull out your musty winter jackets. We do not expect snow at that time of the year but it is often chilly.
