Information
1.
This
is happening March 19-21 (Tue-Thu) on Purdue University campus. The venue for
the technical sessions is the Recreational Sports Center (RSC). The venue for
the evening reception on March 19 and dinner on March 20 is the Purdue Memorial
Union (PMU). The Union Club Hotel where most of you are staying is in the PMU.
Here is the link to the annotated campus map [ PDF
].
2.
The
optimum travel plan will have you arriving in time for the welcome reception on
March 19 starting at 6.30 pm.
3.
The
workshop will wrap up by 2 pm on March 21.
4.
We
will be arranging accommodation for you at the Union Club Hotel on Purdue
campus. You can indicate in your RSVP which days you would need this for. Please
RSVP by February 22. [ RSVP WWW
]
5.
Flying in: Preferred is the Indianapolis
airport. Much less preferred: Chicago – it has better connections but the
traffic between Purdue and Chicago is often a mess.
6.
Coming from Indianapolis to Purdue
campus: There are
shuttles running between the airport and Purdue campus, and will drop you off
at the hotel. The shuttle companies are: Lafayette Limo [ WWW
] and Reindeer Shuttle [ WWW ]. We do not
recommend renting a car as you will not need it during the workshop and parking
on campus is a hassle.
7.
Coming from Chicago O’ Hare to
Purdue campus:
There are shuttles running between the airport and Purdue campus, and will drop
you off at the hotel. The shuttle companies are: Reindeer Shuttle [ WWW
] and Express Air Coach [ WWW ].
8.
Getting around on campus: From the hotel to the workshop
venue is a 0.8 mile easy walk on pedestrian-friendly paths. The evening
reception and dinner are in the same building as the hotel.
9.
Other staying options: If the block of rooms at the
Union Club is exhausted, we will book accommodation at the Hilton Garden Inn or
Hampton Inn and Suites, which are outside campus but run shuttles to the
workshop venue.
10.
Weather: For those of you coming in from
warmer places, time to pull out your musty winter jackets. We do not expect
snow at that time of the year but it is often chilly.
