Bozidar Novakovic's Biography
Bozidar Novakovic is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Network for Computational Nanotechnology.
He earned the following degrees:
- diploma degree, Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, 2005.
- M.Sc., Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, 2007.
- M.A., Physics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2011.
- Ph.D., Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2012.
Before starting his current position he was a PhD student investigating novel quantum transport phenomena in the transient regime and in unconventional geometries. Along the way he gained hands-on experience with semiconductor process technology fabrication and characterization and a master degree in physics with the focus on solid state, quantum mechanics, and electrodynamics. Since joining the group he has been working on the following projects as the lead author or coauthor:
- Quantum transport methods in time domain for device energy-delay characteristics and efficient non-local scattering:
- Modeling novel steep subthreshold devices for reduced power consumption and short channel effects:
- Software co-development leading to the official release of NEMO5 in Intel (2013) for use in quantum transport device simulations

- Fast convergence algorithms for a highly non-linear equation system consisting of Poisson and device transport equations.
- Data and root cause analysis and associated quantum transport and electrostatic code debugging to ensure accurate I-V curves of Si MOSFET and III-V TFET devices.
- Quadrature techniques for efficient integration of device periodic directions.
