Cellular morphology and circuit connectivity

Brainstem neural circuits perform feature extraction on sensory signals. Feed-forward auditory processing occurs at several locations throughout the brainstem and midbrain: cochlear nucleus, superior olivary complex, nuclei of the lateral lemniscus and inferior colliculus. We study auditory processing in each of these structures using a variety of techniques.
