Lab and Facilities
The Brainstem Neurophysiology Laboratory has facilities in Lyles-Porter Hall (LYLE) and Martin-Jischke Hall (MJIS).
Facilities in LYLE include:
- Two double-walled acoustically and electrically shielded booths
- State-of-the-art A/D D/A multi-DSP system for signal presentation and data acquisition from Tucker-Davis Technologies
- Micropipette fabrication facilities (Sutter Instruments P-1000 pipette puller)
- Intra-cellular amplifiers for patch and sharp-electrode techniques.
- High-end operating microscope (Zeiss OPMI PICO equipped with HD video recording capabilities)
- Access to Zeiss fluorescence microscopy facilities with Neurolucida software for 3D reconstruction and axonal tracing
Facilities in MJIS include:
- Patch-clamp experimental rig
- Micropipette fabrication facilities (Sutter Instruments P-1000 pipette puller)
